📌 Program Details
- Duration: 6 Weeks — Self-Paced • Mode: Recorded Video Lessons + Interactive Coding Labs • Instructor Involvement: Capstone Project Evaluation & Certification only • Prerequisites: Basic computer skills and familiarity with spreadsheets recommended (no prior coding experience required)
📅 WEEK 1 – Excel Foundations for Analysts
🟢 Spreadsheet Foundations Students learn the fundamentals of Excel required for data analysis, including cell referencing, formula construction, keyboard shortcuts, and worksheet management. Hands-on exercises improve speed and accuracy when handling large datasets. The focus is on building a strong analytical base.
🟢 Lookup & Reference Formulas This module covers VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, and IF logic. Students learn how to combine data across multiple sheets and build automated calculations. Practical examples connect formulas with real business reporting.
🟢 Pivot Tables & Aggregations Students master pivot tables to summarise thousands of rows into actionable insights. They learn slicers, calculated fields, and grouping techniques. This builds the foundation for fast, repeatable reporting.
🟢 Charts & Excel Dashboards Students create executive-ready dashboards using charts, conditional formatting, and KPI tiles. They learn how to choose the right chart for each business question. The week ends with a one-page dashboard built from raw data.
📅 WEEK 2 – SQL Foundations
🟢 Database Concepts & SELECT Basics Students understand how relational databases work, including tables, primary keys, and foreign keys. They write their first SELECT queries to retrieve and inspect data. This builds confidence in the analyst’s most-used skill.
🟢 Filtering with WHERE This module covers WHERE clauses, comparison operators, BETWEEN, IN, LIKE, and IS NULL. Students learn how to extract precisely the rows the business needs. Practical exercises mirror real data requests.
🟢 Aggregations & GROUP BY Students learn SUM, COUNT, AVG, MIN, MAX, and GROUP BY to summarise large datasets. They understand HAVING for filtering aggregated results. This module turns raw data into business answers.
🟢 JOINs Across Multiple Tables Students master INNER, LEFT, RIGHT, and FULL OUTER joins. They learn how to combine customer, order, and product tables to answer cross-functional questions. Hands-on practice strengthens conceptual clarity.
📅 WEEK 3 – Advanced SQL & Analytics
🟢 Window Functions Students implement ROW_NUMBER, RANK, DENSE_RANK, LAG, LEAD, and running totals. They learn to compute period-over-period growth and rolling averages without complex subqueries. This is the skill that separates junior analysts from senior ones.
🟢 CTEs, Subqueries & Set Operations Students write Common Table Expressions for clean, multi-step queries. They learn UNION, INTERSECT, and EXCEPT for combining datasets. CTEs make complex analysis readable and maintainable.
🟢 Date/Time, CASE WHEN & String Functions Students learn date arithmetic, DATEDIFF, DATETRUNC, and string manipulation functions. They master CASE WHEN for custom segmentation and bucketing. These are the daily tools of every working analyst.
🟢 30 Practice SQL Problems Students solve 30 progressively harder SQL problems modelled on real Indian interview questions. From beginner SELECTs to advanced window-function challenges. Solving these puts students in the top 30% of candidates.
📅 WEEK 4 – Tableau Mastery
🟢 Tableau Public Setup & Data Connection Students install Tableau Public, connect to CSVs and Excel files, and learn the Tableau interface. They understand dimensions vs measures, discrete vs continuous fields. This builds the foundation for visual analytics.
🟢 Visualisations & Chart Selection Students build bar, line, scatter, heatmap, treemap, and geographic charts. They learn the principles of choosing the right chart for each business question. Visualisation enhances analytical storytelling.
🟢 Calculated Fields & Quick Calcs Students write calculated fields using IF, CASE, date functions, and string manipulation. They master quick calcs for percent of total, year-over-year growth, and running sums. This unlocks dashboard interactivity.
🟢 Level of Detail (LOD) Expressions Students learn FIXED, INCLUDE, and EXCLUDE LODs to control aggregation across views. LODs solve the hardest analytical questions in Tableau. Hands-on examples mirror real business scenarios.
📅 WEEK 5 – Dashboard Design & Publishing
🟢 Parameters, Filters & Actions Students build interactive dashboards with parameters, filter actions, and highlight actions. Users can switch metrics, drill down, and explore data themselves. Interactivity is what makes dashboards used vs ignored.
🟢 Dashboard Design Deep Dive Students apply the 7-rule dashboard checklist: five-second test, F-pattern reading, KPI strips, consolidated filters, purposeful colour, whitespace, and mobile responsiveness. They redesign a poor dashboard into a great one.
🟢 Publishing to Tableau Public Students publish their dashboards to Tableau Public and create a portfolio profile recruiters can find. They learn how to embed dashboards in LinkedIn posts and resumes. Public visibility multiplies hiring conversations.
🟢 Storytelling with Data Students learn to structure dashboards as narratives — leading with the question, surprising the reader with the insight, and ending with the recommendation. The chart is the supporting actor; the story is the lead.
📅 WEEK 6 – Capstone Project & Internship Conclusion
🟢 Capstone Project Development Students choose 2 from 10 industry-grade real-world projects and build complete end-to-end analytical solutions independently. Each project spans 6 phases — business understanding, data loading, EDA, analysis, dashboard build, and executive memo — applying all skills learned across 5 weeks. Projects span banking (HDFC branch profitability), e-commerce (returns reduction), real estate (Bangalore housing), sports (IPL analytics), public policy (EV adoption), and more.
🟢 Project Documentation Students prepare structured project documentation covering problem statement, dataset description, methodology, key insights, and recommendations. The completed documentation is submitted to the Synkoc instructor along with the Tableau workbook and SQL queries for capstone evaluation.
🟢 Final Presentation & Review Students submit their capstone project and documentation to their Synkoc instructor for evaluation. The instructor reviews the analytical approach, dashboard quality, and business recommendations, then conducts a one-on-one evaluation session. Successful completion unlocks the Internship Completion Certificate, Training Certificate, and Letter of Recommendation — all issued within 24 hours of approval.
